In 2016, the Optometry Department at Manchester Royal Eye Hospital was recognised for enabling patients with technology using the Icare device. Implementation of this technology has saved NHS resources, reduced hospital admissions and has empowered patients to manage their glaucoma.

1-2-3 Manage COPD Service, Gateshead, South Tyneside NHS Foundation Trust

In 2016,  The pulmonary rehabilitation  team at Gateshead won the award for supporting individuals to take control of their care. Through the 1-2-3 Manage COPD service, this team has given people across South Tyneside with heart conditions the confidence to lead their own recovery.
