AbbVie collects Personal Data that you provide on AbbVie Services, for example, through an enrolment form in order to register for AbbVie programmes and services, if you have elected to receive information, or, if appropriate marketing in relation to our products, or to contact AbbVie customer service, or respond to AbbVie questionnaires or surveys. This could include:
- Contact data such as your address, phone number, or email address
- Registration data such as your username and password
- Health-related, insurance and demographic data, subject to your consent, in the context of a patient support programme, survey or questionnaire
- Remuneration data when you provide a service to AbbVie in your capacity as a healthcare professional
- Employment, education and other background data when you inquire about employment with AbbVie
- Professional, clinical practice and educational data when you participate in an AbbVie sponsored program, research or survey in your capacity as a healthcare professional
Personal Data You Submit During Other Interactions with AbbVie
You may contact AbbVie to ask questions, discuss your concerns, or report issues regarding our products. If you communicate with or request information from AbbVie, you may be prompted to provide your contact information as well as any Health-related and/or Personal Data that is relevant to your request.
Data That May Be Collected Automatically
When you use AbbVie Services, we also may collect certain usage and device data automatically as described below.
We may record the Internet Protocol (“IP”) address of your computer or other electronic device when you visit the AbbVie Services. An IP address identifies the electronic device you use to access the Sites, which allows us to maintain communication with your computer as you move about AbbVie Services and to customise content.
Cookies and Other Tracking Technologies
We also collect information about your use of AbbVie Services through tracking technologies such as cookies and web beacons. A “cookie” is a unique numeric code that is transferred to your computer to track your interests and preferences and to recognise you as a return visitor. A “Web beacon” is a transparent graphic image placed on a Web site, e-mail or advertisement that enables the monitoring of things such as user activity and site traffic. We use your Personal Data to provide you the services you request,

Providing Programmes and Services You Request
If you choose to register for one of our services, we use the Personal Data that you provide through AbbVie Services to respond to your questions, provide you the services you request, offer an optimal customer experience, to perform our contractual obligations and/or on the basis of your consent.
You may also choose to receive marketing information from AbbVie, such as offers regarding AbbVie’s products (if appropriate) or services, invitations to participate in surveys about our products (if appropriate), or other notifications and events. We may use the information that you provide and the information we collect automatically about your use of the AbbVie Services to monitor user traffic patterns and preferences for our legitimate business interests of improvement, analytics and optimisation of the AbbVie Services.
Data Use and Retention
When We Share Your Information With Third Parties
We only share your Personal Data with third parties as described below. We do not sell or rent Personal Data to third parties for their own marketing purposes.
Third-Party Advertising and Online Behavioural Advertising
If you are a healthcare professional and in accordance with the ABPI
Code, you may be provided with online advertisements of AbbVie
products and services on third-party websites and mobile services that
are tailored to you, for example, on the basis of information that you
provide to AbbVie or a third-party website you are visiting, or of
your browsing activity, purchases, or interests. These types of
tailored online advertisements may come through several sources,
as the following:

Personal Data in order to comply with a legal obligation or demand,
such as to comply with reporting obligations to our governing
regulatory authorities regarding the safety of our pharmaceutical
products, or in connection with the sale or transfer of one of our
product lines or divisions, which includes the services provided
through one or more of the AbbVie Services. In such instances, we
take measures to protect your Personal Data to the extent possible. We also reserve the right to use Personal Data to investigate and prosecute users who violate our rules or who engage in behaviour that is illegal or harmful to others or to others’ property.
Privacy of Children
AbbVie does not knowingly collect or use any Personal Data directly
from children on AbbVie Services. We do not knowingly allow children
to order our products, to communicate with us, or to use any of our
online services. If you are a parent and become aware that your child

- for research, including future scientific research and publications to help future patients just like you.
Disclosures to third parties
AbbVie requires its service providers to process your personal data in accordance with this data protection notice and for no other purpose. AbbVie will not provide your personal data to any other third party without your permission unless required by law.
AbbVie will provide metrics and analytical information to its parent company AbbVie Inc. regarding how the Programme is working. This information will be provided on an aggregated basis and does not identify you individually.
Finally, AbbVie may also use anonymised data gathered through the
Programme in research and publications to help future patients just
like you, including engagement with the NHS.
Protection and deletion of personal data
We have implemented appropriate technical and organisational security
measures to protect your personal against accidental or unlawful
destruction or accidental loss, alteration, unauthorised disclosure or
access. Your personal data will be kept for the duration of your
participation in the Program and will thereafter be deleted, unless
otherwise required by law.
Updates to this Privacy Statement
We will only use personal data in the manner described in the Privacy

authorised by you. We reserve the right to change the terms of this
Privacy Notice at any time, subject to any applicable consent and

Personal data that we collect about you and why

Types of personal data
AbbVie may collect and use some or all of the following categories of personal data:
- personal details, such as your name, age, gender and contact details;
- professional details, such as your place of practice, job title, the medical field in which you are active, your professional qualifications and scientific activities (such as previous clinical trial experience, and participation in past or pending research studies with AbbVie and other companies), publication of academic or scientific research and articles, and membership in associations and boards;
- financial details, such as payment-related information, including tax identification number, transfers of value which may include contributions to costs of educational events (such as registration fees, travel and accommodation expenses) and fees for services including consultancy services; and
- details of interactions with us, such as what kind of meetings we have held, topics discussed, your knowledge of and questions you have had on our business and products, what kind of material we have displayed to you and any feedback that you have provided, as well as your opinions and routines on prescribing, routines regarding your patients and diagnosis, and similar information.
Your personal data will be processed by AbbVie for the following purposes:
- managing our relationship with you, including planning, organising and reviewing any collaboration with you, analysis and/or contacting you;
- helping ensure that we provide you with information that is relevant given your expertise, interests and preferences;
- complying with applicable laws and regulations (e.g., in connection with pharmacovigilance); and/or
- publicly disclosing certain transfers of value made to you and healthcare organisations under the Association of the British Pharmaceutical Industry (“ABPI”) Code of Practice for the Pharmaceutical Industry.
The legal basis for this processing are our legitimate interest in maintaining and optimizing a professional relationship or connection with you, performance of a contract with you or involving you, compliance with a legal obligation and, where relevant, your consent. You are not required by law or by a contract to provide your personal data to AbbVie. However, in order to maintain our relationship with you, AbbVie needs to process your personal data.
Sharing your personal data
AbbVie may share your personal data with others, from time to time, in connection with the purposes described in this notice. In particular, we may make your personal data available to:
- AbbVie Inc. as our parent company as a data controller and other affiliates within the AbbVie group (e.g. in the case of shared regional or global databases) and companies with whom we may partner in connection with proposed or actual AbbVie projects, such as shared research initiatives;
- our trusted third party service providers that supply goods or services to AbbVie such as legal counsel, auditors and IT service suppliers;

To ensure an adequate level of data protection is provided, AbbVie has entered into the AbbVie Inter-affiliate Data Transfer Agreement with AbbVie Inc. and it affiliates, which incorporates the EU model contract for data transfers to controllers, which covers all personal data transfers between AbbVie affiliates worldwide to ensure an adequate level of protection for any transferred data. Where AbbVie uses service providers that have access to personal data, it requires such service providers to protect your data and to process your personal data in accordance with our written instructions and this data protection notice and for no other purpose. Any transfers of personal data to third parties outside the EU will be done in compliance with the international data transfer restrictions that apply under EU data protection laws, including, where appropriate, through the use of EU model contracts for data transfers to processors.
Securing and retaining your personal data
AbbVie will take appropriate technical and organisational security measures to protect your personal data consistent with applicable privacy and data security laws.
